5th November 2019
Dear Parents & Carers,
Reminders & Dates
Welcome back to what is always a very busy Half Term. Please find below some gentle reminders and information which we would be grateful if you could note.
We have a number of children in school who have a severe allergy to nuts and sesame. It is now very widely known and understood that allergic reactions have a very significant impact upon those people affected and for children particularly so, it is very distressing. Therefore, we respectfully ask you to ensure that your child’s pack lunch and/or snack does not contain any nuts, nut spread or sesame.
General Election/ Starling Class Christmas production
On Thursday 12th December the school will be used, as it usually is, as a Polling Station for the General Election. Although this will cause the school some logistical problems, more so than usual, we have decided that we have no alternative than to go ahead with our plans as already organised. Therefore, Starling Class Christmas productions will still take place on the same day. Please however be aware that the school will be fairly congested on the day and that villagers may well be trying to navigate their way into school to vote. This will also require particular courtesy when parking, making sure cars are not blocked in.
Additional Non Pupil Days
We have three additional non pupil days left to allocate, which we have now decided to set as Friday 22nd May, Friday 26th June and Monday 29th June. This means that school will not be open for pupils on these days.
All Saints Church, Epping Upland will be holding their Remembrance Day Service this Sunday, 10th November at 10:10am and will last approximately one hour. Revd Olivia has specifically asked that Epping Upland children, along with their parent or carer are most welcome to attend.
Children in Need – Non Uniform Day
Friday 15th November will be a non-uniform day in support of Children in Need. We are suggesting a £1.00 donation per child to support Children in Need and the causes they fundraise for. This is of course, not obligatory.
Foodbank Christmas Parcel
A local Foodbank has offered to help families, whose children attend this school, with a Christmas food parcel. If you feel your family circumstances would benefit from a Christmas food parcel please speak, in full confidence, to myself or the school office by Wednesday 13th November.
We have a never ending supply of ‘lost’ uniform/clothing. Please ensure that all items of clothing, including coats & jackets, are clearly labelled with your child’s name so that we can return it to them.
With many thanks for your continued assistance with these matters and your support.
As ever, should you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
